Well when I told my story, I thought because I went to the TRC, and I’ve never heard from the TRC, I thought that they [the Trauma Centre] would pick up where the TRC failed… I thought maybe the Trauma Centre will help me with further investigation, about like when my husband passed away… and his birth/death certificate. I’m not working now, and my children are at school, maybe the Trauma Center will like, send me to the social workers you know, where I can put my problems there and they can maybe support me, help me. Or I thought maybe… when I come to the Trauma Centre, they see that really I’m suffering now, now, but I would like to stand on my own two feet, but I can’t… they’ll say alright Maureen, monthly we can give you a food parcel, you know, like, to survive. …maybe I thought now, at the Trauma Centre, maybe [they] have like information, where you can go to, to look for work, or things like. But it did help me because Eric came to my place and he gave me counseling and he sent me to, what’s his name, Emma and Emma gave me massaging, you see, and stress drops and that made me, I think, because of my story telling, made me feel better in my inner part.
